Dear friends and colleagues,

Microsoft Excel is an essential tool for anyone performing calculations and analysis related to finance. Thanks to its flexibility, it is widely used to create various tailor-made calculations, even by practitioners using professional software programs.

Teaching finance and consulting to companies over the last 15 years led me to two categorical conclusions. First, anybody aspiring to excel in our area of expertise needs to appreciate and carry out quantitative analyses; and second, that achieving deep understanding of financial instruments is impossible without hands-on experience with appropriate user-friendly software.

I believe that the GIAnalyzer's combination of the flexibility of Excel with a few hundred user-friendly functions related to financial instruments and financial risks is a powerful tool that generates results at a completely different level, in terms of both the scope and depth of calculations, and in terms of speed and efficiency.

Gamma Impact Analyzer was designed to serve as a reliable, affordable and powerful tool for practitioners engaged in financial calculations and analysis – in treasuries, trading rooms, middle offices, back offices, risk management, ALM, accounting, audit, and other departments.

In addition to being an effective tool for calculations and analysis, the GIAnalyzer serves as a learning vehicle. Professional literature and courses are crucial to improving competence, as is practical experience, but they are definitely not enough. Only "playing around" with parameters and performing various calculations such as sensitivity analysis can lead to true understanding of financial instruments.

The user-friendly GIAnalyzer interface in the familiar environment of Excel makes the software easy to use from the very start. Moreover, the use of Excel enables market data, such as interest rate curves and volatility surfaces, to be input directly from various market vendors, or if not available, to be entered manually. This ability to work with both external sources and manually input data increases flexibility in performing analysis.

I believe that you will benefit from GIAnalyzer both as a learning source that improves your understanding of derivatives, and as a powerful tool for your everyday tasks, boosting your effectiveness as financial instruments practitioner – and that you will enjoy its use.

Yours,
Leon Sandler
